Our Story...
(Jason's Version)

Our first date began with a lovely dinner at the Mansion restaurant in Peterborough. After sitting down and glancing at the menu, we quickly learned that we were approximately 50 years younger than the next youngest patron of the restaurant. Although dinners at 3 and 8pm bedtimes were nothing new to us, we still felt the need to go out of our way to act grown up....that sure lasted long.
After reviewing the menu and placing our orders, I soon found myself to be drawn to Erin's big beautiful smile. I don't think anyone can blame me, especially considering I had been used to her "Why is that guy in my class looking at me" face. After getting that look, a smile was much appreciated.
I learned two other very important things about Erin at this dinner:
1) If her food touches, it's game over
2) You can lead an Erin to asparagus, but you can't make her eat.
After dinner, we had the most memorable toboggan ride of our lives. We decided to set out to one of Peterborough largest hills, at night, and shortly after a drop in temperature. When we arrived at the hill, I decided to be a gentleman and offer the lady the first run. Erin smiled and shook her head, which I still blame her for to this day. I slid down the hill at what can only be described as Jeff Gordon speed, which ended with hitting several bumps on the hill and propelling myself up into the air and down on my shoulder/neck. As I mentioned earlier...I still blame Erin until this day.
Needless to say, love hurts.
Ever since this eventful night, we have been absolutely inseparable. Whether it be living across town or in different cities, we have always made sure that any obstacle in our way has made us stronger.
We've wanged, we've chunged, and now it's time that I get to look forward to marrying my best friend, and the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.
Hope to see you all in 2013

The Proposal. . .
Erin's Version
January 13, 2012 started out like any other day. I was driving to Kingston to visit Jason for the weekend and we had plans to go out for dinner once I arrived. Jason, ever the gentleman, offered to help me carry my bags up when I arrived at his apartment and to call when I was close so he could meet me downstairs.
As I got into Kingston I called and got no answer. I didn’t think much of it and figured I would just call again from the parking lot. When I got to the apartment, I noticed that his car wasn’t in his spot. By this time I was frustrated- why offer to help me with my things when he wasn’t even going to be home! After a bit of grumbling, I made my way upstairs to his apartment.
When I let myself in, I was speechless. The hallway was strewn with rose petals and an envelope lying on the floor. I opened the envelope to find a card from Jason instructing me that I was embarking on a riddled scavenger hunt. As I made my way through the apartment, I found my next instruction. By this time, I started to catch on to what was happening.
I worked through his riddles, which included a stop at his parent’s house, a phone call to a good friend (thanks Ash!), a cryptic email and finally an unknown address. I arrived at my last clue’s destination, a hotel in Kingston and found my way to the room number I had been given. I nervously knocked on the door, waiting for Jason to answer.
When he opened the door, the room was covered in rose petals and candles. He led me in, got down onto his knee, presented me with a stunning ring and asked me to be his wife. Between tears and hugs, I think I may have snuck a small nod in to answer his question.
